Burn Away
Early morning light at Emerald Lake, BC, Canada
Vermillion Awakes
A cold but gorgeous morning at Vermillion Lakes, outside of Banff, Canada.
Blue Whisper
Intimate scene in the Johnson Canyon, Banff National Park
The Flow Below
Somewhere along Johnson Canyon I found this cool small scene and was caught up in shooting it. The light was fading fast but thankfully it was calm enough in the canyon to get some sharp images at quite a long exposure and focal length. I probably looked like a weirdo as I was propped up on the ledge of one of the walkways shooting almost straight down but I think this turned out really awesome!
Awakening
Bow Lake comes alive in the early morning light. The color in the sky was just awesome and the glow lit up Crowfoot Mountain and the fall underbrush along the lake.
Bow Morning
Emerald Lake Lodge
Moraine Morning
A calm and peaceful morning at Moraine lake near Lake Louise Alberta.
Mountain Canoe
I don't normally do black and white images, but I couldn't resist the wonderful contrast in this scene at Moraine Lake, Alberta. Most people opt for the blue waters and view from the rock pile, but I figured there must be more and went exploring along the shore. Have a good Friday!

Morning mountain light at Lake Louise Alberta.
Two Jack Sunrise
A gorgeous calm morning on the popular Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park. There were only a few people at the lake this morning, and I was able to find this nice composition with some rocks and a little island. I definitely need to get out to Banff to shoot more often!
Foothills
Taken last year near Calgary. The trees and underbrush came alive with color as the sun went down behind the hills
Before the Storm
Storm Afoot
This location has literally been shot to death. Being that it's so easy to get to and one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Canada there are literally thousands of great photos of Moraine Lake. But the cool thing about landscape photography is that each time you go to a place the clouds are different, the lighting is different and the mood is different. The first time I went here the lighting was flat, clouds were overcast, and did not leave me too satisfied. Luckily I got here a mere 5 minutes before the light completely dissappeared and a large wind/rain storm started. Anyways, hope you like it!
Lone Paddle
A shot from up at Emerald Lake in B.C. Canada. During the daytime the lake is really blue and quite beautiful. I was lucky on this mornign there was almost zero wind and I found a couple of old canoes to have some fun with. Met a nice guy named Denmark from San Fran who was also taking some photos. I always have a struggle getting up super early for hotography but in the end it is always worth it. It's just much more peaceful and calm, and there are usually no other people around. The sky in this photo is highly influenced from the forrest fires in B.C. and Alberta this summer. If my research is correct that;s Michael Peak to the left and Wapa Mountain to the right.
Emerald Lake Canoes
Found some older unused canoes that were perfect for this early morning calm shot at Emerald Lake, B.C. Canada
Emerald Canoe
The canoes set up ready for a day of paddling at Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, B.C.
Takakkaw Falls
Stumbled upon this waterfall on a trip back home from B.C. this summer. The amount of water coming off this thing is amazing! Theres a little plateau about 25m from the top and the water just shoots right off of it. The wind was unfortunately not in my favor as it was blowing all the mist directly at the camera. But hey who doesn't love a challenge (and getting soaked)??
Takakkaw Falls V2
Misty conditions provided a challenge, and a rainbow for this shot.
Fallen Creek
I was hiking around this little creek and found a lot of downed logs. I decided to try a few shots as the light slowly faded on me. Somewhere near Kelowna B.C., Canada.
Brandywine Splash
Brandywine falls just outside of Whistler B.C.
Tombstone Upper
Tombstone Lake
The upper part of tombstone lake in Kananaskis in Alberta Canada. It's about an 8km hike into this lake from the highway parking lot. There's a nice little camp spot we had for the weekend and this was the reward at 6am! The lake was perfectly still and thankfully I didn't have to use my bear mase!
Reflection Pond
Upper Tombstone lake in the Kananaskis area. Now that I've seen The Revenant I have a different idea of hiking in the woods alone. That bear scene is gnarly! Glad I haven't seen one yet.
Orange Tip
Tombstone Mirror
Very quiet and still on an awesome morning hike up to Tombstone Lake in Kananaskis park, AB Canada
Prairie Wonder
Driving through Alberta I was treated to some spectacular sunset clouds and color. Found a few old abandoned structures to photograph.
Barn Burner
Wicked sunset in the southern Alberta area on my way back from Washington.
